Smart City

AURIC (Shendra-Bidkin Industrial Area) in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, has completed six years, celebrating industrial growth, global investments, and sustainable development. Developed under the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme (NICDP), AURIC is among India’s first Greenfield Industrial Smart Cities.

In six years, 323 plots have been allotted across 3,029 acres of industrial land and 117 acres of mixed-use land, with investment potential of over ₹71,343 crore and an employment potential of 62,405 jobs. Currently, 78 units are operational, 62 factories are under construction, and 184 are preparing to begin construction.

The Shendra Industrial Area has attracted marquee investors like South Korea’s Hyosung, while Bidkin Industrial Area has drawn world-class companies in automobiles, EVs, polymers, and engineering. Nearly all industrial land at AURIC is now allotted, reflecting strong investor confidence.

AURIC also emphasizes MSME and women-led entrepreneurship, with business leaders such as Vaishali Ajeet Deshpande (Anukul Power Engineers), Dr. Hershali Sandeep Deshmukh (Turbonova Polymer), and Payal Naikwad (Rayon Illuminations & Energy Solutions) leading inclusive growth.

A 20,000 sq. ft. Skill Development Centre in partnership with CII is planned to boost workforce capabilities, while office space rents for MSMEs have been reduced by 50%—from ₹50 to ₹25 per sq. ft.—effective April 1, 2025.
