HLTF Charts Roadmap to Boost Infrastructure & Connectivity in Northeast India

Infrastructure Connectivity

Union Minister Jyotiraditya M. Scindia joined the High-Level Task Force (HLTF) on “Logistics, Infrastructure Connectivity in NER” chaired by Assam CM Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on August 6, 2025. Attended by key ministers from Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, and Sikkim, the meeting addressed critical infrastructure gaps in highways, railways, airways, waterways, digital networks, and logistics across the Northeast.

A comprehensive Infrastructure Masterplan will be developed with inputs from all eight NE states and Central Ministries. Key suggestions included improving air connectivity, building climate-resilient infrastructure, reducing logistics costs, boosting cross-border trade, and aligning state logistics policies with national standards. Scindia also emphasized mapping all NER infrastructure projects on the PM GatiShakti Portal for better coordination and development.
