IWAI Builds 4 Pontoon Jetties in Bihar’s Bhagalpur District to Boost Inland Water Transport

The Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI), under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, has constructed four pontoon jetties in Bhagalpur district, Bihar—one each at Kahalgaon and Tintanga, and two at Sultanganj—at a total cost of ₹5.61 crore.

Onshore facilities are being developed at Sultanganj, Kahalgaon, and Bateshwarstan, with an estimated investment of ₹2.80 crore. These developments aim to strengthen inland water transport infrastructure in the region.
