PERI India: PERI Shore Shoring System & MPS Lite Edge Protection System

The PERI Shore is a heavy-duty shoring system

What are the key features of the new PERI Shore Shoring system and MPS Lite Egde Protection System?

The PERI Shore is a heavy-duty shoring system with an 8-ton capacity, while the MPS Lite Egde Protection System is lightweight and optimized for construction needs in India. PERI systems are all German-engineered, which is their USP. However, the ideation and development have primarily taken place in India. The pilots and prototypes have also been created in India. These systems are specifically designed for markets like India and other emerging countries.

Our strong focus on R&D has led to some of our systems being ideated with patents filed in India. At our R&D center in Pune, we have a team of engineers that works on innovations and development of new solutions.

What customer requirements are impacting the formwork industry?

Systems that deliver the shortest cycle times are in high demand. Earlier, slab cycles typically took almost a month or more. With advancements, we transitioned to systems that reduced the slab cycle to two weeks. Now, there are systems available that complete slab cycles in one week or even less. This represents an emerging technology, where faster formwork systems are becoming critical. Moreover, ensuring high-quality processes has become the need of the hour.

We also place a strong emphasis on sustainability. For instance, one of our systems, the Techno Polymer system called DUO, is made from fully recyclable polymer. We are focused on developing sustainable solutions and recyclable systems that help reduce the carbon footprint.

Safety is a prime concern when working at heights. Things have improved a lot in India. The government is addressing safety as a priority, and the laws have become stricter. Media has also become very proactive in highlighting safety concerns.

Every stakeholders—whether a contractor, consultant, or developer—has become more safety-conscious. With the availability of safe and fast systems, there is a growing demand for technologies that ensure safety. The trend is shifting towards prioritizing safety in all aspects of construction technology.

What training do you provide for workers handling your scaffolding systems?

We have a PERI Academy in Mumbai, as well as academies in Malaysia and Germany. The PERI Academy in Mumbai invites everyone—from construction workers to site engineers and project managers—to gain hands-on experience. Here, we demonstrate live systems and allow participants to perform the erection and dismantling, helping them learn through practical experience. This is also part of our skill development program for which we offer certificates.

What are the prevailing issues or challenges in the formwork and scaffolding industry that need to be addressed?

India is currently using conventional and traditional scaffolding but is now transitioning to system scaffolding in a significant way, though we still use bamboo scaffolding in some cases. Construction is becoming more engineered; there is a growing awareness of safety and quality, and the country is also facing a potential manpower shortage. As a result, there is increasing demand for systems that allow faster dismantling and require less labor.

Well, more investment in technology is required because there is likely to be a manpower shortage. This issue needs to be addressed immediately. Our priority should be to implement more skill development programs for the workforce so that we have trained individuals working in the industry.

What is your company’s marketing strategy to expand its brand reach? Please provide details about your dealer network and the new markets you plan to enter.

We participate in numerous exhibitions such as bauma India. We have product awareness programs and organise roadshows to create awareness of our systems, and we conduct seminars in different parts of the country, inviting professionals from the construction industry to participate.

We typically do not operate through dealers, as we follow a direct marketing strategy. All our products are specifically designed for projects, and we have in-house design and engineering teams. We have seven branch offices in India, supported by our own engineering and sales teams.

How has FY2025 been for your company, and what is your outlook for the next three years?

We have experienced good growth and operate on a calendar-year basis. Looking ahead, we anticipate a boost for the construction industry as infrastructure investments are expected to increase. India is a vast country with substantial development needs. We require investments to develop ports, airports, roads, and other critical infrastructure. While we are still far behind developed countries, we are optimistic about government investments in infrastructure development.
