India’s rapid urbanisation and infrastructure development have come at a cost—air pollution. Among the many sources of air pollution, construction activities are a significant yet often overlooked contributor. From towering skyscrapers in Mumbai to metro projects in Delhi, construction sites and pace of NH construction increased 2.8 times to 33.8 km/day (2023-24) from 12.1 km/day (2014-15) construction is a significant activity in today’s India. However, the construction sites are also hotspots for dust, emissions, and pollutants that degrade air quality and pose serious health risks.
