Allcargo Gati: Electric Forklifts for Safety, Sustainability & Efficiency

Chief Operating Officer, Allcargo Gati LimitedSandeep Kulkarni - Chief Operating Officer, Allcargo Gati Limited

Electric forklifts have significantly enhanced our warehouse operations by improving safety, sustainability, and efficiency. These forklifts contribute to a cleaner and safer work environment, by reducing noise pollution and carbon emissions.

Currently, we operate 41 electric forklifts of various brands like Hi-tec Matflow, Fonty Supply Chain Solutions, Watrana Rentals, and Newgentech Solutions. Use of electric forklifts lead to substantial cost savings and increased uptime due to their longer operational lifespans and reduced maintenance costs. Their superior control capabilities have improved safety levels, resulting in fewer accidents in our warehouses.

To ensure the safe operation of electric forklifts, we implement several safety measures, including comprehensive training programs for forklift drivers that emphasize safe operating methods and emergency procedures. Regular maintenance and inspections are crucial for keeping the forklifts in optimal condition, with particular attention paid to safety features and battery health. We adhere to stringent guidelines for proper handling and charging of batteries, minimizing hazards associated with electrical equipment.
