Technology, Policy, and Partnership take center-stage at CII’s Mining & Construction Equipment Summit 2025
The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) convened the Mining & Construction Equipment (MCE) Summit 2025 on 19 May 2025 at Taj Palace, New Delhi, under the theme “Redefining Boundaries: Innovating A Sustainable Future.” The Summit brought together over 200 key stakeholders—including policymakers, OEMs, EPCs, technology leaders, and global partners—to chart India’s journey toward becoming a self-reliant and globally competitive hub for MCE innovation, manufacturing, and sustainability.

Enabling Growth and Unlocking Potential
Vivek Bhatia, Chairman, CII Mining and Construction Equipment Division and MD & CEO, TKIL Industries, emphasized the sector’s role as a backbone of India’s $830 billion mining and infrastructure ecosystem, supporting over 70 million livelihoods. He projected that India's MCE industry has the potential to grow three to four times in the next 5–8 years and called for increased awareness, investment in R&D, and policy reforms to localize equipment manufacturing. He stated, “We have the raw materials, technical talent, and manufacturing base. What we now need is scale, vision, and collaborative intent to build globally benchmarked equipment here in India. There's no reason to import. It's time to build MCEs in India and for the world.”
