CCI Approves Adani Group’s Acquisition of Jaiprakash Associates

The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has approved the acquisition of Jaiprakash Associates Limited (JAL) by Adani Group entities.

The transaction involves the acquisition of up to 100% shareholding of JAL by Adani Enterprises Limited (AEL) and Adani Infrastructure and Developers Private Limited (AIDPL), or any other entity within the Adani Group. JAL is currently undergoing corporate insolvency resolution under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016, as directed by the National Company Law Tribunal, Allahabad Bench.

Adani Group operates across sectors including energy, logistics, resources, materials, and agro. AEL serves as the flagship company of the Adani portfolio, while AIDPL, a wholly owned subsidiary of Adani Properties Private Limited, is the holding company for the group’s real estate businesses.

Jaiprakash Associates is a diversified infrastructure conglomerate with businesses in engineering and construction, cement, power, real estate, fertilizer, hospitality, and sports.
