Doosan Bobcat India Inaugurates Manufacturing Factory Expansion in Chennai

Doosan Bobcat India, an industry leader in Compact Construction Equipment, has inaugurated its 11,300-sqm compact excavator production facility within its existing Chennai plant site. Following nine months of construction, the company’s compact excavators are expected to start full-scale production in 2025 after the installation and stabilization of the production line. With the completion of this production facility, Doosan Bobcat India will add mini excavators to its production line-up, which already includes backhoe loaders and skid-steer loaders.

Since 2023, the company’s Chennai plant has been expanding its export volume with a focus on its S70 skid-steer loader. The Indian unit has seen robust growth, with its annual growth rate at 22% on average over the past five years. Doosan Bobcat's Indian subsidiary plans to sell 8,900 units annually by 2028, including portable power products manufactured at its Bengaluru plant.

The inauguration brought together the global leadership team at Doosan Bobcat to witness the unveiling of the new facility. With the expanded floor space and upgraded machinery, Doosan Bobcat India would meet the growing demand for its range of equipment by enhancing production efficiency, quality control, and product innovation. Built with sustainability in mind, the new facility incorporates eco-friendly practices and technologies to minimize environmental impact and reduce carbon footprint. This expansion project will create numerous job opportunities for skilled workers in the local community, contributing to economic growth and prosperity.
