Frauscher Begins Construction of Global Rail Manufacturing Hub in Mysore to Boost Railway Modernisation

Frauscher Sensor Technology India

Frauscher Sensor Technology India has commenced construction of its new global manufacturing hub in Mysore, Karnataka, complementing its existing operations in Austria. This milestone underscores the company’s strong commitment to India’s railway modernisation and aligns with the government’s “Make in India” vision. The state-of-the-art facility, spanning 1.55 lakh square feet, is set to become a key driver for both domestic and international supply chains. Construction is expected to be completed by October 2026. Strategically designed to scale sensor and board production, the hub will also focus on technological innovation and regional employment generation.

The two-storey facility will house production on the ground floor, while the first floor will accommodate office space, a research and development (R&D) hub, and two specialised centres of excellence. The localised R&D hub will deliver tailored product innovations for Indian Railways, enhancing Frauscher’s ability to meet customer needs with safe, intelligent, and trusted solutions. This expansion further cements Frauscher’s role as a reliable partner in the railway industry, with the capacity to serve Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and other emerging global markets directly from India.

“This new facility marks a significant step in our long-term strategy to support India’s evolving rail ecosystem as well as markets beyond. It strengthens our ability to deliver at scale, drive local innovation, and respond faster to market needs. Our mission is clear: put operators in control, enhance network safety and efficiency, and build systems ready for the future of the Indian railway network,” said Akhilesh Yadav, Managing Director, Frauscher Sensor Technology India.
