The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is set to strengthen the Thanjavur–Pudukottai highway via Gandarvakottai, with work expected to begin soon following the award of the contract. This marks the first performance-based maintenance contract in Tamil Nadu, where the contractor will handle both the strengthening and maintenance of the 55-km stretch for five years under a single package. The project will be executed at a cost of approximately ₹45 crore.
