Railways Prepares DPR for Tanakpur–Bageshwar New Line

The Ministry of Railways has completed the survey and prepared a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the proposed 170 km Tanakpur–Bageshwar new line in Uttarakhand. The project is estimated to cost ₹48,692 crore.

The DPR indicates low traffic potential for the route. Following finalisation, the project requires consultations with the Uttarakhand government and approvals from NITI Aayog and the Ministry of Finance before sanctioning.
