₹5.79 Lakh Cr Projects in Progress Under the Sagarmala Programme

Under the Sagarmala Programme, 839 projects worth ₹5.79 lakh crore are being implemented across India by central ministries, state governments, major ports, Indian Railways, and IWAI. Of these, 280 projects worth ₹1.42 lakh crore have been completed, and 209 projects worth ₹1.62 lakh crore are under implementation. Another 350 projects worth ₹2.75 lakh crore are at various stages of development.

Delays in project execution are primarily due to land acquisition issues, statutory clearances, local protests, and scope changes. To address these, the Ministry conducts regular project reviews, enforces structured appraisal and funding guidelines, and organizes Maritime States Development Council meetings. A National Sagarmala Apex Committee oversees overall planning, policy, and coordination.
