Shri Nitin Gadkari Approves ₹6,000 Cr Elevated Road on Pune Bypass

Elevated Corridor

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has approved a ₹6,000 crore elevated corridor between Narhe and Dehu Road, providing major relief to commuters on the busy Mumbai–Bangalore bypass.

The Dehu Road–Katraj bypass was originally built to divert long-distance traffic away from Pune city. While a tunnel and bridge at Narhe helped ease congestion around Katraj, the steep slope near Vadgaon Budhruk turned the stretch into a frequent accident zone.

Over the years, rapid urbanisation around Baner, Pashan, Mulshi, Hinjewadi, and Pimpri Chinchwad has further burdened the bypass, causing regular traffic jams. The upcoming elevated road aims to ease traffic flow and improve safety on this critical corridor.
