Titagarh Rail Systems Secures ₹467.25 Cr Order for Coastal Research Vessels

Titagarh Rail Systems Limited (TRSL), a leading Indian rolling stock and engineering solutions provider, through its Shipbuilding and Maritime Systems (SMS) Division, has bagged its largest-ever order, valued at ₹445 crore plus ₹22.25 crore GST (total ₹467.25 crore), from Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE). The order covers the construction, trials, and delivery of two Coastal Research Vessels (CRVs) for the Geological Survey of India (GSI).
The CRVs will significantly boost India’s maritime research infrastructure, enabling advanced studies on seabed geology, oceanic resources, and environmental sustainability. Equipped for real-time analyses and long-duration missions, the vessels will enhance capabilities in offshore geological mapping, mineral exploration, ocean environment monitoring, and shipboard scientific research.
TRSL has already established its credentials in maritime innovation with the successful construction and delivery of a Coastal Research Vessel for the National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT), which supported vital oceanographic missions. Notably, the vessel was showcased at the 12th Presidential Fleet Review, an exceptional distinction, as few non-defense ships are featured in this prestigious event.
Building on this legacy, TRSL continues to reinforce its reputation as a trusted partner in advancing India’s shipbuilding and maritime research capabilities.
