Alstom to Supply Driverless Trainsets for Mumbai Metro Line 4

French transport major Alstom will supply 39 driverless trainsets and a Communications-Based Train Control (CBTC) signalling system for Mumbai Metro Line 4 under a contract valued at “a few” hundred million euros, according to PTI.
The contract, which also includes five years of maintenance services, was awarded by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) to Larsen & Toubro (L&T) for an integrated systems package for the Green Line. L&T has partnered with Alstom for rolling stock and signalling solutions.
