Elphinstone Bridge to be Demolished on September 10 for Sewri-Worli Elevated Corridor

The 125-year-old Elphinstone Bridge in Mumbai will be demolished on September 10 to pave the way for a double-decker elevated corridor under the Sewri-Worli Elevated Road project, which will connect with the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (Atal Setu) to enable signal-free travel.

The Mumbai traffic police have approved the MMRDA’s proposal to close the bridge for vehicles from the night of September 10, following which demolition work will commence.
