India to Roll Out Green Hydrogen Trucks on 10 Highway Corridors: Nitin Gadkari

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, announced that the government has identified 10 highway stretches across India where green hydrogen-powered trucks will soon be deployed. The move is part of India’s strategy to curb vehicular emissions and decarbonise the road transport sector.
Hydrogen refuelling stations will be set up along these pilot corridors by Indian Oil Corporation and Reliance Petroleum. Key routes include Greater Noida–Delhi–Agra, Bhubaneswar–Puri–Konark, Ahmedabad–Vadodara–Surat, Sahibabad–Faridabad–Delhi, Jamshedpur–Kalinganagar, Thiruvananthapuram–Kochi, and Jamnagar–Ahmedabad, among others.
These pilot projects will act as testing grounds for hydrogen-powered heavy vehicles and are expected to accelerate the transition toward clean mobility solutions and wider commercial adoption in the coming years.
