Kerala Govt Clears Judicial City Project in Kalamassery

The Kerala Cabinet has granted in-principle approval for the long-pending Judicial City project proposed by the High Court. Planned on a 27-acre HMT-owned plot in Kalamassery, the project is estimated to cost ₹1,000 crore for land acquisition and infrastructure.
The Judicial City will include 1.2 million sq. ft. of built-up space, 61 court halls housed in three towers symbolising Articles 14, 19, and 21 of the Constitution, and modern facilities to strengthen the judicial ecosystem. The state is also exploring Central funding support for the initiative.
