Kochi Metro Phase 2: KMRL Invites Bids for ₹127.91 Crore Track Work Contract on Pink Line

Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL) has invited bids for a ₹127.91 crore track work contract for Line 2 (Pink Line) of Kochi Metro Phase 2. The 11.2 km corridor will run from Jawaharlal Nehru (JLN) Stadium to Infopark II, covering 11 stations — JLN Stadium (new station box), Palarivattom Junction, Palarivattom Bypass, Chembumukku, Vazhakkala, Padamughal (formerly Kunnumpuram), Kakkanad Junction, Cochin SEZ (Special Economic Zone), Chittethukara, KINFRA (formerly Rajagiri), InfoPark 1 / Smart City 1, and InfoPark 2 / Smart City 2.

The scope of work includes the design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of standard gauge ballastless track and connections in the elevated section from JLN Stadium to Infopark Station under Phase 2 of the Kochi Metro Rail Project.

Kochi Metro, an urban Mass Rapid Transit System (MRTS), currently has Phases 1, 1A, and 1B operational, while Phase 2 is under construction. The Pink Line’s civil works are being executed by Afcons Infrastructure at a cost of ₹1,141.32 crore. The project is being implemented in two phases:Phase 1: First five stations from JLN Stadium to Kakkanad — targeted completion by 30 June 2026, and Phase 2: Remaining stations to Infopark II — targeted completion by December 2026. The duration of the newly tendered track contract is 16 months.
