Gorakhpur Railway Station Redevelopment Underway with ₹509 Cr EPC Project

The major upgradation and redevelopment of Gorakhpur Railway Station is underway, marking a transformative step in modernizing one of India’s busiest rail hubs. Executed in Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) mode by the North Eastern Railway’s Lucknow Gati Shakti Unit, the ₹508.99 crore project will turn the station into a state-of-the-art, multi-modal transport hub.

Spread across 2,59,749 sq. m., the redevelopment includes new buildings, infrastructure upgrades, and dismantling of outdated structures. Designed to integrate efficiency, sustainability, and cultural identity, the project aims to provide world-class passenger facilities and strengthen Gorakhpur’s position as a major gateway in Uttar Pradesh.

The upgraded station will feature dedicated resting zones, modern food kiosks, retail outlets, and advanced waiting areas, while also ensuring special facilities for Divyangjans (persons with disabilities) in line with universal design standards.
