Gujarat Govt Approves ₹4,179 Cr for Urban Development in 19 Cities

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has approved ₹4,179 crore for urban development projects across seven municipal corporations and 12 municipalities under the Urban Development Year, 2025 initiative, originally launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2005.
The funding will support key infrastructure upgrades in Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Rajkot, Gandhinagar, and newly formed municipal corporations such as Nadiad, Porbandar, and Morbi. Municipalities like Visnagar, Borsad, Viramgam, Patan, Amod, Una, Halvad, Khambhaliya, Savarkundla, Dhanera, Veraval, and Patan will also benefit.
Of the total, ₹3,768 crore is allocated for core infrastructure, with ₹2,940 crore going to Ahmedabad, ₹455 crore to Vadodara for 349 projects, and ₹367 crore to Rajkot for 302 works. Porbandar will receive ₹6.2 crore for 11 projects.
To improve urban connectivity and aesthetics, ₹219 crore has been sanctioned for roads and Gaurav Paths. Rajkot will get ₹136 crore, followed by Una with ₹17.76 crore, Halvad ₹19.28 crore, Morbi ₹15 crore, Nadiad ₹13 crore, and Khambhaliya ₹5 crore.
Additionally, ₹93 crore is approved for water supply and stormwater drainage. Morbi receives ₹61.64 crore, Savarkundla ₹19.28 crore, and Dhanera ₹11.31 crore.
