The Maharashtra Cabinet has cleared the ₹6,500-crore ‘New Nagpur’ project, a futuristic hi-tech city planned in Hingna taluka to transform the region into a major business hub.
Conceived as a commercial and corporate epicenter, the project will feature an International Business and Finance Centre (IBFC) to support industries, startups, and corporate offices. The Nagpur Metropolitan Region Development Authority (NMRDA) will implement the project, with NBCC (India) appointed as consultant for its expertise in large-scale urban development.
Spanning 692.06 hectares across Mouza Godhni (Rithi) and Mouza Ladgaon (Rithi), the project has been allocated ₹3,000 crore for land acquisition and ₹3,500 crore for Phase I development. The full investment will be raised through a HUDCO loan backed by the state government. Declared a flagship initiative, it will also enjoy stamp duty waivers.
