Telangana Govt

Reaffirming its commitment to the Musi riverfront development, the Telangana government has released ₹375 crore to the Musi Riverfront Development Corporation Ltd (MRDCL) for project implementation.

On the same day, IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu stressed that there was “no going back” on the initiative, which seeks to revive the Musi ecosystem while driving economic growth, recreation, and sustainable urban development.

The project includes pedestrian-friendly zones, heritage conservation areas, cycle tracks, green spaces, hawker zones, bridges, tourist and sports facilities, parking, retail, and hospitality infrastructure.

Earlier, the state government had earmarked ₹1,500 crore for MRDCL in FY 2025–26, of which ₹750 crore has now been released. Sridhar Babu highlighted Telangana’s progress in greenery, water conservation, and carbon-neutral growth, while calling for climate-resilient urban planning.
